LNG Industry,
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has issued an order granting Floridian Natural Gas Storage Company LLC long-term multi-contract authorisation to export LNG by vessel to free trade agreement (FTA) countries.
The LNG will be exported in ISO containers loaded at the proposed Floridian facility in Martin Country, Florida, US, before ultimate export via ocean-going vessels.
Floridian seeks to export LNG in a volume equivalent to approximately 14.6 billion ft3/yr of natural gas, less the portion of that volume that may be under firm contract directly or indirectly to Carib Energy (USA) LLC.
Floridian anticipates the points of export to include the Port of Palm Beach, Port Everglades, Port of Miami, Port Canaveral, Port of Tampa, Port Manatee, and Port of Jacksonville, Florida. Floridian requests this authorisation for a term of 20 years, to commence on the earlier of the date of first export or five years from the date the authorisation is issued.
The DOE is considering Floridian’s request to export LNG to non-FTA countries separately.
