Gazprom set to build new LNG plant

Gazprom has confirmed its intention to build a new LNG plant near the sea port of Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea.

The LNG plant will have a production capacity of 10 million tpy, which could be expanded to 15 million tpy. The LNG plant will be supplied with gas from Russia’s unified gas supply system.

Deputy Chairman of Gazprom's Board of Directors and Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee, Alexei Miller, said: "Implementation of the project ‘Baltic LNG’ will [offer] Gazprom [a] competitive advantage [and] strengthen the company's presence in the rapidly growing market for liquefied natural gas.”
