The local utility, Raahen Voima, will utilise the LNG to replace the use of LPG for generating power and heat to its’ major consumer, a local SSAB steel mill. As a result of switching to LNG, the steel mill will notably reduce its emissions of CO2, NOx and SOx. The Raahe LNG terminal will be fully operational in summer 2018.
