Cheniere Energy’s subsidiary, Cheniere Marketing International LLP, has entered into a long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement with Korea Southern Power Co. Ltd.
The order is for the tank design of two new LNG carriers on behalf of a European ship owner.
The order comes from its Korean partner shipyards, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
Under the agreement, POSCO International has agreed to purchase approximately 0.4 million tpy of LNG from Cheniere Marketing on a FOB basis for a term of 20 years beginning in late 2026.
The order is for the tank design of a new LNG carrier with a total LNG tank capacity of 174 000 m3.
